Eva trailer featuring Daniel Brühl
I had never heard of Eva and it was just by fluke that I picked up the teaser trailer to have a look at this morning, and I'm glad I did because it's a little bit magical.
The film is a story about a cybermetic engineer called Alex who returns to his former university to carry out a very specific task for them, to build a robot child.
Returning to his old university also means returning home, and renewing his relationship with his brother, who is now married and has a young daughter of their own, Eva. She and Alex make a connection from the moment they meet, and she seems to stumble upon his creation.
There's not much else about the story as yet, and the teaser really is the introduction to the story, but it does look interesting and the effects look really good, not just CG but plenty of practical too.
Here's the teaser trailer for the film which you should have a peek at. It stars Daniel Brühl, who you will no doubt connect with Inglourious Basterds (Filmstalker review) but has a string of performances to his name before that film.
The teaser doesn't have much of Brühl but does show a key aspect of the story, the robot.
