New Green Hornet trailer promises action
My concern over the film version of The Green Hornet was centred around a few facts, Stephen Chow left the production and Seth Rogen. These, and other stories, kept pointing me one way, this was going to be a Hollywood comedy typical of Rogen and not the story about a rich guy doing right and becoming a hero.
There's certainly more action in the film and more suggestion of a rich party boy doing right, but the lead does seem to be the usual film Seth Rogen character just caught up in a different scenario.
I mean I like the trailer more because it focuses more on the superhero element, but I'm just not convinced. The action sequences make me think of a Zack Snyder film, which isn't a bad thing at all, it's just not a Zack Snyder film.
I don't know, I'm getting some very different vibes from trailers to date and I'm just not sure which way the film could go. To be fair this is perhaps the best trailer yet and really does give a feeling of a hero film, albeit a comic one, and the action does look rather cool.
Still not convinced though, and I know I'm still smarting over the whole Stephen Chow episode as I was just so keen to see that version of the film, but I have to get over that and give this version of The Green Hornet a chance, after all this is the version that's getting made.
Still, after all this and everything I've said, I'm still expecting a Rogen-esque comedy that looks slightly off-kilter with the Michael Gondry direction.
