Love and Other Drugs trailer
Romantic story of two people who are just looking for an escape from everyday lives and then find themselves falling in love. Seen it. Then there's the aspect that the guy knows women and know how to play them. Seen it. Then try the fact that the woman knows all about it and he can't play her. Seen it.
So what does Love and Other Drugs offer us? Well from the trailer there looks to be two strong performances, some hilarious moments as you can see from the end, and the promise of perhaps a little something extra.
After all we're talking about Edward Zwick directing and co-writing a cast including Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria, Josh Gad and Gabriel Macht, now there's got to be something more to it than first looks.
Here's the blurb for Love and Other Drugs to give you a better idea of the story.
Hathaway portrays Maggie, an alluring free spirit who won't let anyone - or anything - tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie's evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.
The trailer does suggest a romantic film with some dramatic element, and I'm looking to something like Up in the Air (Filmstalker review) for a little comparison, from the trailer and the two leads it does feel like there's going to be something a little more.
Have a look at the trailer for yourself over at Apple Trailers in high definition, I have to admit the way that last scene is set-up it did make me have a huge belly laugh, then the dramatic moment of the two main characters looking at each other with tears in their eyes is believable and emotional, and it's just a short moment.
