Casino Jack new trailer online
We're already seen a great trailer for Casino Jack directed by George Hickenlooper and written by Norman Snider and starring Kevin Spacey as the lead character Jack Abramoff in a dramatised version of the real life story of the “super lobbyist” who could demand tens of millions of dollars from his clients to lobby and change the people in American politics making the decisions that would change America, and the people paying Abramoff the money.
Now there's a second trailer online and it's looking just as good, although this one tones down the powerful performances a little and gives more story and a little more of the lighter note, that is until we see Spacey in the court room scene.
We've already seen a trailer for Casino Jack which was a cracking trailer, powerful performance from Kevin Spacey in the lead role, a great performance from Barry Pepper backing him up as well as the lovely Kelly Preston, who is a much underrated actress, and the superb Jon Lovitz, it looked a great film. It mixed the fun of excess and wealth with the dramatic punch of it all being taken away and the fight back from the people losing it, powerful indeed and not just from Spacey's performance.
This trailer looks slightly different in tone, but there's still that great Spacey performance to be reckoned with. He looks great, and almost overshadows what the film is really about, in the trailer anyway.
Mind you if you want to know about the true story then you can turn to the documentary Casino Jack and the United States of Money from the excellent documentary maker Alex Gibney who made the excellent Taxi to the Darkside (Filmstalker review).
In this film we get to see a more dramatic story, and it looks like it's going to be a superb one. There's plenty of life left in Hollywood isn't there?
Here's the blurb:
Two–time Academy Award Winner Kevin Spacey gives the performance of a lifetime in Casino Jack, a riotous new film starring Spacey as a man hell bent on acquiring all that the good life has to offer.
He plays in the same game as the highest of rollers and resorts to awe–inspiring levels of conning, scheming and fraudulent antics to get what he wants. Inspired by true events that are too over–the–top for even the wildest imaginations to conjure, Casino Jack lays bare the wild excesses and escapades of Jack Abramoff. Aided by his business partner Michael Scanlon (Barry Pepper), Jack parlays his clout over some of the world's most powerful men with the goal of creating a personal empire of wealth and influence.
When the two enlist a mob–connected buddy (Jon Lovitz) to help with one of their illegal schemes, they soon find themselves in over their heads, entrenched in a world of mafia assassins, murder and a scandal that spins so out of control that it makes worldwide headlines.
