Biutiful trailer online

Biutiful.jpgBiutiful is the latest film from writer and director Alejandro González Iñárritu who has brought us films such as 21 Grams and Babel, and it's getting some really strong praise already. There's talk of Oscars and powerful performances, and the trailer reflects that.

It's amazing that a trailer can be so emotive, powerful, deliver a touch of a story and still have next to no dialogue. There's a lesson there for Hollywood trailers for sure.

Biutiful carries an intriguing plot, one that is as enticing as the trailer but also keeps the story rather vague:

This is a story of a man in free fall. On the road to redemption, darkness lights his way. Connected with the afterlife, Uxbal is a tragic hero and father of two who's sensing the danger of death. He struggles with a tainted reality and a fate that works against him in order to forgive, for love, and forever.

Here's another blurb for the film which might give you a little more:

Biutiful is a love story between a father and his children. This is the journey of Uxbal, a conflicted man who struggles to reconcile fatherhood, love, spirituality, crime, guilt and mortality amidst the dangerous underworld of modern Barcelona. His livelihood is earned out of bounds, his sacrifices for his children know no bounds. Like life itself, this is a circular tale that ends where it begins. As fate encircles him and thresholds are crossed, a dim, redemptive road brightens, illuminating the inheritances bestowed from father to child, and the paternal guiding hand that navigates life's corridors, whether bright, bad - or biutiful.

However it's the trailer that tells us more than that and conveys the emotion and the beauty that the film is going to deliver, plus what already looks like a very powerful performance from Javier Bardem.
