True Grit full trailer online
It seems the previous trailer for True Grit was not the full trailer, whereas this trailer most certainly is. There are vast improvements and the character of Rooster Cogburn looks fantastic with Jeff Bridges looking like he could be headed for much acclaim in the role.
The rest of the cast get more time on screen in this trailer too, and that includes some spoken lines. Josh Brolin, Matt Damon and Hailee Steinfeld all look and sound good, and I love the fact that there's a Johnny Cash song rolling in the background.
The synopsis for the film is one you should already know, after all True Grit is one of John Wayne's most well known performances, and one that seems a fair battle for an actor to tackle, however I'm warming to Jeff Bridges version in the trailer which looks similar but a little darker and harder, something the entire trailer seems to convey, a greater sense of realism.
That said though, there are still some moments from the original film that are carried through here, and perhaps thats a nod to the first, or perhaps it's really that well written in the script, I'm not entirely sure not having read the book or seen the new film yet.
Here's the blurb for True Grit if you have forgotten:
Following the murder of her father by hired hand Tom Chaney, 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross sets out to capture the killer. To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with "true grit," Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn. Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character do not augment her faith in him. Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search of Chaney. They are joined by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for his own purposes. The unlikely trio find danger and surprises on the journey, and each has his or her "grit" tested.
Now here's the new trailer, which is far superior to the previous one we saw, and you can also see in high definition over at Yahoo Movies:
