Willis updates Die Hard V and Expendables 2
Bruce Willis has been saying a few words about both Die Hard V and The Expendables 2, and while most is hopeful conjecture as we always see from a lot of stars wanting franchises to continue and take them with them, however with Die Hard there's a lot more meat on the bones of the story.
Willis is at the core of Die Hard, he really is one of the few franchise characters that you could not get away with replacing either in character or actor form, and he's talked about work on the fifth script before, but now he reveals it's even closer.
He says that the script is complete and it's just having some changes made to it right now, he suggests it's going to happen next year and with a script going through rewrites that sounds like it could be feasible. The question really is will it be as strong as Die Hard 4.0 (Filmstalker review)?
Bruce Willis spoke to MTV about it in a few sentences and there wasn't a lot of in-depth follow up questions about who was writing the script, who was hitting the rewrites, if he'd seen the script and what he thought, so on. However they did ask about the state of the film and after some jokes on his previous thoughts of it hitting this year, he revealed:
”It's probably going to happen in 2011. We have a script. They're making a couple changes right now.”
Now that does sound like it could happen soon, but surely it will be the big finale for Willis and McClane?
He also talked a little about the possibilities for The Expendables 2 through Coming Soon and JoBlo, and revealed that Sylvester Stallone has plans to bring back everyone for the second film and he's:
”...going for all the marbles this time, and he's going to get everybody in this time. Even [a character - Richard] who took two bullets in the last film, he's coming back, too. Hopefully, they'll start shooting it while we're young enough to survive.”
Does that mean that we'll get more of Willis and perhaps Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film? More than a few minutes of them standing around exchanging jibes and maybe see them in the thick of the action? I hope so, don't you?
