Frankie and Alice trailer shows Berry best

HalleBerry.jpgFrankie and Alice is a film I hadn't really heard of until today but was surprised to see that it stars Halle Berry and Stellan Skarsgård and looks to feature a strong performance from Berry.

The film is about a woman who is suffering from multiple personality disorder, more than that she's a black woman and one of her personalities appears to be a racist white woman.

The physicality differences of the characters aside, this could be a really challenging role for any actor, flipping between the two and building the characters through the film, presumably slowly separating them in her performance.

The trailer and the blurb suggests that this could well be one of her best performances, and perhaps another Monster's Ball type performance, even the trailer tells us that. Actually though, marketing aside, it seems like it could go that way.

Here's the trailer for Frankie and Alice which comes through Movielicious and Collider:

It does look like Halle Berry could be set to deliver a strong performance don't you? The film also stars Stellan Skarsgård who is pretty much guaranteed to deliver a good performance. Behind the film there are quite a few writers, but there's one director, Geoffrey Sax. He previously directed Stormbreaker and White Noise, as well as quite a run of television shows to boot.

I'm not sure what all this means for the film and what it is going to offer us, the trailer isn't the best cut I've seen, but then it does suggest Berry is on top form.
