Monahan's London Boulevard trailer online

WilliamMonahan.jpgThe writer of Kingdom of Heaven, The Departed (Filmstalker review), Body of Lies, and Edge of Darkness has directed his first film which he also wrote, London Boulevard, and it carries a great cast and a strong trailer.

It stars Colin Farrell, Ray Winstone, Keira Knightley, David Thewlis, Anna Friel, Eddie Marsan, Ben Chaplin and Stephen Graham, and looks like Farrell is back on top form as a gangster trying to get out while his ex-boss is pulling him back in.

It's the second Ken Bruen novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) adaptation I'm posting a trailer for today, and it looks just as good, although this one carries a bigger cast.

The story sees Colin Farrell's character Mitchell released from prison and looking for a new line of work, away from the gangster world. He does, as a bodyguard and ends up protecting a film star, played by Keira Knightley, who is hiding out in a London home.

However, as is always the case, the past won't stay the past and his ex-boss, played by Ray Winstone, is on his trail. He wants him to return to working for him, while Mitchell and the film star are drawn towards each other, he realises he has to put an end to the past to move on with his future.

Yes, it does sound similar to stories we've already seen, but this is a blurb and once you see the trailer you might think differently of it. Farrell looks strong and he has a great cast around him, plus it's William Monahan writing and directing.
