The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader new trailer

DawnTreader.jpgI have to admit to having a great apathy for this film and I'm not totally convinced I know the reason why. Much of it stems from the fact that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader isn't being marketed that well and everything I see about it presents it as a quest for some of the secondary characters from the previous films who are just to deliver a sword.

It doesn't seem particularly exciting and the scope of the story seems to be wholly focused on the boat. I just wonder if we're seeing the right parts of the film in order to get us excited about it, and the new trailer does take a slight step forward on that front, but there's still a lot missing.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader tells the story of Lucy and Edmund Pevensie who return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace. They meet Prince Caspian and head across the sea aboard his ship The Dawn Treader. Their quest is to deliver a sword to the table of Aslan and on the way they are challenged time and time again and meet a whole host of new, and old, characters.

Sounds okay, but I still don't feel a huge burning desire for the characters to get anywhere or do anything. There doesn't seem to be a big core to the plot driving them on this quest.

Really that's the only reason I can find to thinking that this is feeling rather lacklustre.

You can see the trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader right here and try and discover why I might be feeling like this about a film filled with so much CG and fantasy.
