Wahlberg confirms Uncharted: Drake's Fortune rumours
Mark Wahlberg has dropped a lot of information today about the adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the biggest one being that he's actually starring in the film, as long as the current director stays in charge.
The other big news is about that rumour of Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro starring, and if O'Russell and Wahlberg have their way that's what will happen.
Of course, as with all these rumours the reality is a number of steps back. When you listen to the actual words of the interview you hear something much less than Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro are starring in the film.
Well let's just read that carefully shall we, he's writing the script with them in mind. That's about as far off of them signing as anything could be.
However, Wahlberg does go on and reveals that he's talked to Pesci whom he took to a screening of The Fighter and told him about the film, and he was going to do the same with De Niro but didn't get him, however he does say through MTV Movies Blog that...
“David's people have talked to Bob”
So that's a bit closer to happening, and if it did happen we would see De Niro playing his father and Pesci playing his uncle.
Wahlberg was keen to hype up what O'Russell has planned for the film and says that it's insane, pointing out that this Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is...
“Not going to be the watered down version that's for sure”
I suspect that means there's going to be quite a bit of violence, but I can't help but think video game adaptation in Hollywood means PG-13 regardless.
