Angela Bassett has joined Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon in McG's This Means War. The film is billed as an action and romantic comedy and follows two best friends who are also international spies who just happen to fall in love with the same woman, and when they do they set out to kill each other. The story comes from Variety.


Fathers and Sons, De pere en flic, is being remade...
Peter Craig, co-writer of The Town (Filmstalker review), is set to adapt the French Canadian film Fathers and Sons. The comedy-thriller sees two police partners, father and son, assigned to investigate an outdoor adventure group for fathers and sons. The film was a huge hit in Canada and earned a fair profit. The story comes from Variety.


Robert Wise joins X-Men: First Class...
Robert Wise, think the devil and, well, the devil, is set to star in Matthew Vaughn‘s X-Men: First Class as the Secretary of State of the United States. The story comes from IGN through /Film.


Paul Giamatti for Cronenberg's Cosmopolis...
Paul Giamatti is in talks to star alongside Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard for the adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s novel Cosmopolis by David Cronenberg. The story comes from The Playlist through /Film and tells us that no one's sure who he would play. The story follows a young billionaire, played by Farrell with Cotillard playing his wife, who encounters a number of strange characters and situations on a rid across midtown Manhattan in his stretch limousine.


Another Brick in the Wall for film...
Producer of The Queen and The Damned United, Andy Harries, has optioned the rights to the story of Alan Renshaw, a teacher who decided to give the kids something to aim towards and managed to get his class to sing the choir part of the Pink Floyd song Another Brick in the Wall. Unfortunately it ended up with him losing his job, but think of what it did for the class. The story comes from Collider.
