Stalked: Nolan says no to Ledger, Proyas' next science fiction film?, Muppets gains cast, Gangster Squad director
No Ledger in The Dark Knight Rises...
Proyas adapting and possibly directing new science fiction film...
Muppets gains more muppets, no I mean actors!...
Zombieland director on Gangster Squad...
No Ledger in The Dark Knight Rises...
Well it's as I expected, and I'm sure you all did too, but The Dark Knight Rises will not feature Heath Ledger in CG or unused scenes from The Dark Knight (Filmstalker review). We've been told again that it won't be happening.
Not only is the key fact here that the script hasn't been written, but both Christopher Nolan and his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas have both denied the rumour.
The denials are pretty strong. Heath Ledger will not appear in the film and his performance as the Joker will remain in The Dark Knight film and he won't be seen in The Dark Knight Rises.
The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision has the comment from Emma Thomson which is backed up by Christopher Nolan. No Heath Ledger, no Joker. The story comes from The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision.
Proyas adapting and possibly directing new science fiction film...
Alex Proyas is producing and may direct an adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson's novel Amp which Deadline Hollywood Daily tell us will tell the story of a new technology that is invented to reverse the disabilities of people, however it goes one step too far and makes them superhuman. Daniel H. Wilson's Robopocalypse: A Novel (Amazon.com) is also getting made into a film by Steven Spielberg.
Muppets gains more muppets, no I mean actors!...
The Muppets film has quite the line-up with Jason Segal, Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis, Charles Grodin, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt all already signed up for the film. The story comes from The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision.
Zombieland director on Gangster Squad...
Ruben Fleischer, the director of Zombieland (Filmstalker review), has signed up to direct Gangster Squad, the story of how the LAPD created a specialist unit called the Gangster Squad to try and push the Mafia and organised crime out of the city. It's quite a move from Zombieland. The story comes from The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision.
