Turner writing Mann's Big Tuna...
Sheldon Turner is set to write the script for Michael Mann's next gangster film, Big Tuna according to Variety. This one is about the Chicago Mafia boss Tony "Big Tuna" Accardo who built up his crime empire, handing the reins over to Sam Giancana, a man who reportedly was involved in the killings of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. Turner wrote Up in the Air (Filmstalker review), which was a great film, but this has the potential to be a much bigger epic.

Hammer joins Hoover...
I love that title. Armie Hammer has been cast by Clint Eastwood to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in his film about J. Edgar Hoover according to Deadline Hollywood Daily. Hammer will play Hoover's number two in the FBI and reported lover with DiCaprio playing Hoover. However we've already been told that the film won't be lingering on the love aspect, I'm not so sure.

Bob the Musical...
The co-writer/directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Phil Lord and Chris Miller are talking with Disney about a musical called Bob the Musical. According to The Hollywood Reporter it's a story of a regular guy, Bob, who receives a blow to the head and can suddenly hear the songs inside everyone's hearts and his world is turned into a musical. Sounds a little like Eli Stone, although that had a lot more going for it and was a great series.

U.S. Election comedy, isn't it already?...
It seems that there's a "hot pitch" out there according to Deadline Hollywood Daily for a new comedy film which Jay Roach is lined up to direct with Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell playing opposing Presidential candidates and apparently they are going to try and time the film for the 2012 U.S. Presidential election. Does that mean laughs, lies and illegal activities to win the vote?

Three Stooges lives...
I can't believe that the film about The Three Stooges is still on the go, after all the line-up of Jim Carrey and Sean Penn had long since passed, although it's not clear if Benecio Del Toro remained on the project. One thing is now clear, although incredibly surprising, despite the production falling through with MGM Deadline Hollywood Daily through First Showing tell us that the Farrelly Brothers have takent the film to 20th Century Fox. Still think this is a disaster, don't you? I just can't see it working, even with A-list stars.

Frankenstein rises, again...
Frankenstein is getting a bit of a revival with Craig Fernandez pitching a modern version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein to Sony according to Deadline Hollywood Daily through Coming Soon. There are a couple of Frankenstein projects on the go at the moment, or at least being talked about. Will one of them make it through, and is there really anything new to be told on the story?

Triple Frontier not next for Bigelow and Boal...
Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal might not be making Triple Frontier next and word from Variety has come that they have an international thriller lined up that could be their next film. There's no script but Boal is writing and Bigelow would direct. The only hint is that it's a Black Ops story, is based on a true one, and has been published. What could that be then?
