Atlas Shrugged: Part I trailer
A trailer for Atlas Shrugged: Part I has appeared online and it looks like a lower budget television film, far from the epic that was planned when we first heard word of an adaptation of the 1957 Ayn Rand novel.
The film does carry a good cast though, Taylor Schilling, Grant Bowler, Matthew Marsden , Edi Gathegi, Paul Johansson, Michael O'Keefe, Patrick Fischler, and more recognisable names, but it's definitely not getting the huge treatment we thought it might when Angelina Jolie was first mentioned with the lead role.
Paul Johansson directs the film Atlas Shrugged: Part I that he also stars in from the screenplay by John Aglialoro and Brian Patrick O'Toole. The blurb tells us a brief synopsis, and pulling out the fact that it's based on the Ayn Rand novel (Amazon.co.uk) there's not much left to tell:
A powerful railroad executive, Dagny Taggart, struggles to keep her business alive while society is crumbling around her.
I wonder if we'll get to see this on a cinematic release or if it is just going to television, and if we'll get to see a second part?
Here's the trailer through Deadline:
