Elektra Luxx trailer arrives
It's been a long time coming - I promise I won't fill this post with innuendo, if you find any it's just because you're a dirty person - but the trailer for Elektra Luxx has arrived, the film from Sebastian Gutierrez with Carla Gugino reprising her role as the adult film star she played in Women in Trouble.
The first appearance of the character was pretty good in an enjoyable film filled with a really strong female cast, it's well worth watching and has some good laughs and great moments, as well as some lovely ladies as Gugino, Adrianne Palicki and Emmanuelle Chriqui play pornstars, and now they're back for their own film.
The trailer for Elektra Luxx will remind you a lot of Women in Trouble, and has some of the old names back again including Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing the video blogger following the adult industry from his mum's basement, a dig and a half but a funny one none the less.
"Can we do this again?"
"I don't know, you talk a lot"
I really liked that, and it is filled with similar dialogue and quick fire moments. Wait, did I just see Alicia Silverstone?
The new trailer is over at Apple Trailers in high definition and carries with it a rather big blurb:
Recently retired from the adult film industry, superstar Elektra Luxx (Carla Gugino) is pregnant with the child of late rock star Nick Chapel. She is trying to make ends meet by teaching a community college sex education class aimed at housewives when a figure from her past, flight attendant Cora (Marley Shelton), approaches her with a proposition. In exchange for the (stolen) lyrics to Nick Chapel's last record, all of which is about Elektra, Cora needs Elektra to seduce her fiancee. Elektra reluctantly agrees to do this favor, setting in motion a series of hilarious events which will see her come face to face with detectives, sex bloggers, emotionally unstable neighbors and the Virgin Mary herself as she wrestles with the prospect of motherhood and tries to become a person of substance.
Well it wasn't that big, it looked a lot bigger on the Apple site. Is it just me or does Gugino just look sexier and sexier every time you see her on screen? I'm not even going to mention Moore, Adrianne Palicki as Holly Rocket or Emmanuelle Chriqui as Bambi. I think I need a lie down.
Women in Trouble was rather enjoyable, and it surprised me too, so I'm rather looking forward to Elektra Luxx. Although it's being touted as a March 11th release I've no idea if that's just a limited US release, right now I'm guessing it is.
