The Mechanic Throwback trailer
There's a new trailer for The Mechanic out there, looking like a seventies trailer, hence the name of Throwback trailer.
There's not much to it in terms of new content, but I really like its style and the message it brings, and genuinely watching this no nonsense, honest, no marketing crap in the message trailer, would actually win me over.
Guns, explosions, stars, epic music, escapism, and some smart arse comments throughout, I particularly love the bit where Donald Sutherland and Jason Statham start talking. Yes, this trailer is superb fun and nails it right on the head.
There's not much more to say about The Mechanic, apart from reminding you of the plot:
Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a 'mechanic' - an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. It's a job that requires professional perfection and total detachment, and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached. His next assignment is self-imposed - he wants those responsible dead. His mission grows complicated when Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal and a determination to learn Bishop's trade. Bishop has always acted alone but he can't turn his back on Harry's son. A methodical hit man takes an impulsive student deep into his world and a deadly partnership is born. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.
...and big thanks to TrailerAddict for getting this version up there which was worth waiting for. Look it's not rocket science and it's not Shakespeare, but it's going to be great fun and if you watch this trailer it's looking like Simon West is delivering exactly what you're expecting. Statham rocks.
