Win The Flying Scotsman on DVD
The Flying Scotsman is described as the first full length British feature film with sound, although it may well have been added after the filming, and it features some surprising stunt work onboard the very train itself, The Flying Scotsman.
Not only that but it features the screen debut of Ray Milland who would later go on to star in The Lost Weekend and Dial M For Murder. Now the early film is getting a glorious re-release and you can be the proud owner of a free and legitimately won copy.
Here's a blurb for 1929 film The Flying Scotsman:
A young fireman on the Flying Scotsman train falls in love with the beautiful daughter of the driver who is about to retire. The young fireman has replaced another named Crow who was sacked for drinking on the job and is planning to wreck the express on the driver's last trip.
Wow, who would have thought that an action film on one of the most famous trains of the time, and indeed since, was the first British feature film? Note that it wasn't a costume drama or comedy.
