Conan the Barbarian teaser trailer

ConantheBarbarian.jpgTeaser can cover all manner of nothingness these days, and this teaser trailer for Conan the Barbarian does just that. For in a small percentage of screen, projected onto CG created mist, you'll get to see some snapshots of what Conan will be about, although there is a decent enough shot of the new Conan himself sword swinging and speaking.

I can't say that Conan the Barbarian is any good yet, not from this teaser, as there's just nothing to it, but teaser it is, so let's have a look.

The plot for Conan the Barbarian goes like this:

The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan's exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

Ah, "like never before", now there's a warning sign if ever I read one. Imagine a "colossal 3D action-adventure film" that we've never seen before. Well that either means it's very bad or it's way better than Avatar (Filmstalker review), and I don't believe either of those lines.

The teaser is surprisingly devoid of anything, and in a film where we really need to see things to set it apart from the Conan a lot of us have seen before, this is far from satisfying, although to see Jason Momoa giving it some sword swinging and flexing action is a good moment, he definitely looks like he's up for the job.

Here's the teaser for Conan the Barbarian, I do hope that Marcus Nispel can deliver more than the teaser, and isn't it worth it just for Rachel Nichols and Rose McGowan in some serious leather and cloth costumes? Remember though there's Ron Perlman, Stephen Lang, Saïd Taghmaoui and Nonso Anozie in there too, an interesting cast.
