Resident Evil: 5 happening?

ResidentEvilAfterlife.jpgI recently saw Resident Evil: Afterlife and was rather surprised at how enjoyable it all was, yes it was still light hearted fare, it had some huge plot holes and some rather silly moments and so much was left unexplained, but all in all it was one of the better of the franchise and was turning the series on an upward trend.

I never doubted there wouldn't be another one in the series after Afterlife and I didn't mean a CG film either, and it seems I was right. Resident Evil: 5 has been announced.

Well when I say the film has been announced Screen Gems have said they want another film for 2012 and so they've announced it will play to cinemas from September 14, 2012.

That's nice, anyone want to tell a writer and director about it? Not yet, but they'll have to get going quickly. According to the ShockTillYouDrop story no one has revealed if Paul W.S. Anderson, but I suspect if it's going to be in 3D then he's going to want to play with that again because the behind the scenes on the Blu-ray suggested he and the cast had a hell of a lot of fun on Resident Evil: Afterlife.

If you're wondering where Resident Evil: 5 will step off from, well it would have to be right at the end of Resident Evil: Afterlife, with the appearance of an important character at the end, and the survivors stranded and in a situation there really was no getting out of, they can't just skip over it.

Expect news on this film fast, but do you want to see a fifth, and did you see Afterlife?
