Chris Morgan begins sixth Fast and Furious
Vin Diesel did hint back in January of last year that a draft script Chris Morgan had delivered for Fast Five was looking like it could be two more films rather than one, and now it seems that this is exactly what's happening as Morgan has been signed up for two years with Universal.
That deal includes a sixth Fast and Furious script and a lot of positive comments from both sides about what the deal will bring. For us the most important thing is a script for a sixth Fast and Furious.
While I'll skip over the thoughts of what this could entail title wise, it does seem that this was something that was going to happen from when the Fast Five script was being delivered. As I said Vin Diesel had already been talking about another chapter, and while that might have been wishful thinking and great use of the media, he was saying it was more than just hope.
"If 2009's 'Fast and Furious' was chapter one, what writer Chris Morgan just delivered is Chapter 2 and chapter 3.
I have never been submitted a two story saga from a studio before... it is very exciting, and shows a commitment level that is hard not to respond to.
Excited about the sexy locations the filming of this saga would take us... this novel like story, that has twists and unexpected turns that is authentic, truthful and challenging to the characters."
It's no surprise as the fourth in the franchise, Fast & Furious (Filmstalker review), was the highest grossing one to date, and the latest production of Fast Five looks like it could be delivering something bigger and better.
I'm up for a sixth film and I haven't seen the fifth yet, but judging from the trailers it does look like it's going to be one of the best of the franchise. Could they just keep getting better and better? How many more could we see?
