New Cowboys & Aliens trailer
Cowboys & Aliens has a new trailer and it's looking really good. This new trailer lets us see more of everything, except Olivia Wilde in the nude and the aliens themselves, however we get more story, more action, more of the "abductions" and a few glimpses of what it might be like inside the spaceships as well.
It seems that the cowboys aren't just fighting for themselves but to save the others who have been abducted and are being used by the aliens in some way. We also get more of the lead characters' back story, his lost memory, his lost wife, but there's no more on why he has that strange bracelet.
I really like the way this trailer plays out and delivers the story, it's not giving us too much, but it's giving us enough of the main characters to get us interested, and enough of the bizarre premise to make it real as a story for us. I'm in.
Here's the blurb for Cowboys & Aliens:
1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It's a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky.
Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation.
As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents--townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors--all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.
Of course it's not just the story and the trailer, it's Jon Favreau, Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde. Sounds good, but it's the trailer that sells it for me, a trailer you can see over at Apple Trailers or right here, although the audio on the flash version is a little dulled, it still gets the story across.
