Transformers: Dark of the Moon new trailer
New trailers all round today as another one emerges this time for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. There's a lot more to this one than the teasers we've been seeing, the teasers that have all been about the discovery during the Moon landing.
Now we're getting to see much more of the film and the story, and this one looks epic once again, I've used that word for all of the trailers released today. This Transformers is bigger, darker, the Decepticons are winning and this isn't about overly humorous, closely cropped robots having a little tiff any more.
I was really surprised by this trailer it's not what I expected at all. The first thing that struck me was the tone was much darker and the story was immediately much bigger, it doesn't just seem to be a fight between the two groups of robots that drags in some of the humans, this is going global and the scale is much bigger.
Then there's the cityscape shot that looks like the city has been taking a beating, not just a few streets, then the call goes out and we see that there's a whole new breed of Decepticons, and we get to see them in action. All of this is saying that the film is a much darker and grander scale than the previous, and you can see it through the shots and hear it in the characters words. I didn't hear a single one liner.
The effects look fantastic and the other part that surprised me is that the camera has pulled back and we get to see the intricacies of the action, we're not zoomed super close into the action with no idea what's going on.
Yes, colour me impressed. What do you think? Here's the new blurb before the trailer:
Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us.
