The Descendants trailer

TheDescendants.jpgGeorge Clooney. That's the main draw here, that and the mention of the director of Sideways (Filmstalker review), Alexander Payne. Apart from that if you really are to take a cold hard look at the trailer there's not a lot here that wouldn't easily be associated with other films on the same topic - I'm thinking drop in Clive Owen and transport it to another country and I've seen this before.

Yet with Payne writing and directing, and the memory of just how enjoyable Sideways was, I'm holding out a lot of hope.

The Descendants is based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemming and we see George Clooney as husband and father. He's clearly not that connected with either his wife or his two daughters and when his wife is injured in a boating accident and he's forced to come into their lives and take over her role, life and responsibility is thrust in his face.

The trailer shows us a couple of nice twists to the story, including the surprise closing moment, and George Clooney is looking fantastic as always, and we see that Judy Greer and Beau Bridges are also starring.

Here's the trailer so you can make up your own mind, but I would hold the thought of Clooney and Alexander Payne to the fore. You can see the trailer over at Apple Trailers in Quicktime high definition, or here:
