Sydney, I Love You begins...
I wondered when this project would start making the rounds of the world's cities. After Paris Je t'aime (Filmstalker review) and New York, I Love You, comes the Australian version. The Hollywood Reporter tell us it's currently in production and will see twelve films of ten minutes each all about Sydney. Loads of talent to pull in to direct and star in that then.

Idris Elba joins Pacific Rim...
No, it's not a porno! The excellent Idris Elba has joined Guillermo del Toro's next film Pacific Rim according to The Hollywood Reporter. Charlie Hunnam is already set to star in the film about a group of humans who defend the planet from an invading alien race using large robots that they pilot.

Hugh Jackman in big screen Les Miserables...
How can Hugh Jackman be in that film? He's always smiling! The film version of Les Miserables is going to star Hugh Jackman, if the talks go through according to The Hollywood Reporter. Tom Hooper is directing, and the script comes from the Victor Hugo novel. Jackman would play Jean Valjean who steals to feed his sister and is then sent to prison for the crime.

Ron Howard on Spy Vs. Spy...
The Spy Vs. Spy comic strip which saw two ever battling secret agents is moving towards a live-action film version according to Deadline and Ron Howard may direct it. The idea is to follow the premise of the two spies going at it time and time again and turn it into a visual comedy. That's the alarm bells ringing.

Darren Aronofsky on television...
Darren Aronofsky has been working on a television series which is set during World War II, it sees a group of magicians and con-people using their skills to help defeat Hitler. He looks like he's going to be directing the pilot too according to Deadline. Strange indeed.

Simon West to direct Expendables 2?...
So it would seem according to Deadline, and that's not a bad thing considering he directed The Mechanic (Filmstalker Review), Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The General's Daughter, could it be better than Sylvester Stallone directing?

Max Landis writing Frankenstein...
Max Landis is writing a new Frankenstein film according to Variety, another one for the mix of Frankenstein films on the go at the moment.
