The Skin I Live In trailer
The first teaser for Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In looked interesting, and the short blurb hooked us into the potential story. Now we're getting to hear more of the plot and see a more extended trailer, although again the explanations in the trailer are kept to a minimum.
Still, it does look interesting and is raising a lot of questions, even if the plot does answer more. A plastic surgeon who believes he has created a new version of human skin that is impervious to assault, he just needs a trial patient, willing or not.
Here's the more comprehensive blurb for The Skin I Live In:
Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig.
Sounds interesting, and then throw in the trailer which stars Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya and Marisa Paredes, as well as the name of Pedro Almodóvar as writer and director, and I'm more than interested, I'm keen to see it.
Here's the trailer.
