Drive trailer
Drive comes from Nicholas Winding Refn and stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman and Albert Brooks, an very different line-up as to the one that was first hinted at for the film, however the trailer that's been released makes it look like this is the perfect match for the film, and it's a fantastic trailer at that.
What's perhaps most surprising about this tale of a stuntman and getaway driver is that it comes from a book by James Sallis, a book telling a story that seems to be most suited for film action sequences. Then throw in Refn's direction and there's another off camber turn to the film.
Off camber or not, this all looks like it's lined up perfectly to give us a strong thriller mixed with some fantastic car stunts and action sequences with a powerful bunch of actors. The trailer has caught my attention something rotten and I'm keen to see it.
Here's the blurb for Drive before we turn that bend ahead for the trailer. First gear, wait for the lights...
Drive is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day, a loner by nature who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene. When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best - drive.
...now go...
The trailer comes through IGN and Twitch and it really does look good. I'm keen to see what Nicolas Winding Refn has done with this potentially car action heavy film and how he's portrayed it on screen. From the trailer it looks like he's done it really well and with bags of style.
