Red State adults only trailer

RedState.jpgKevin Smith's Red State has a new trailer online, red band for Americans and over eighteen for most of the rest of us. Basically it has some swearing and gun shooting. Yet that's not a description of the trailer, for there's a lot more there, including a touch of the Kevin Smith humour that seems rather pointed at the same time.

There's a lot of promise in Red State, now we need to see it deliver, and this trailer is the first step towards it because it looks good.

Here's the blurb for Kevin Smith's Red State which stars names such as Melissa Leo, Kevin Pollak, Michael Parks, Michael Angarano and a rather slimmed down John Goodman:

Set in Middle America, a group of teens receive an online invitation for sex, though they soon encounter fundamentalists with a much more sinister agenda.

It's here where the story really kicks in. I start to get a very Hostel-esque vibe from the film but when the government arrives that's when we get the more complete picture. I wonder how much this is going to cause outcry amongst certain groups?

Here's the trailer for his independently funded and distributed film, and here's hoping we get to see some screenings over in the UK, although I think it's going to be a long wait.

What do you think then? Is this going to be worth the wait? Do you think he should have distributed the film through the studio system so we might have been able to see it sooner? That is if they didn't bury it in a half-hearted release instead.
