Soderbergh's Contagion trailer
Steven Soderbergh's film Contagion has a trailer and it's online in high definition and right here.
It's powerful, hard hitting and shows the escalation and sheer inability of humanity to deal with a strain of a virus that can kill, has mutated to easily pass between hosts, and has no vaccine. This is something that is becoming more and more likely to happen as we fight more and more germs and viruses.
The trailer for Contagion looks great, some great actors, strong performances and powerful moments. It all adds up well and builds the tension throughout, moving from a few cases of people being sick to streets being cleared, mass graves, and national and international states of emergencies.
This is one of those disaster films that really isn't far from the truth. The invader of humanity won't be alien, it will be from within. Mmm, I like that tag line.
Thankfully the blurb isn't an epic with no carriage returns this time and is very readable, although it tells us the basic story the rest is left to the trailer.
Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
