The Ides of March trailer
These are the kind of films we need to start seeing, the ones that are entertaining, thrilling, well acted, written and shot, and tackling a big issue that people need to know more about, the corruption, lies and manipulation that happens behind the scenes to try and steal your votes, not because politicians care about you, but because they want the position and the power.
That's what George Clooney's new film looks set to deliver as he writes, directs and stars in the film about some of the behind the scenes "work" that goes on in a political campaign, all wrapped into a nice thriller with Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Evan Rachel Wood, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright.
It looks an interesting political thriller too, although there's plenty hinted at we're not being exposed to too much of the story, something I like in a trailer.
Plus with George Clooney writing and directing how can you not be interested? He's not playing the lead though, that's Ryan Gosling who will play the young staffer which the film follows through the increasingly dirty campaign.
Here's the blurb for The Ides of March to explain some more.
Based on the play by Beau Willimon, The Ides of March follows an idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail.
Now, here's the trailer which you can see over at Yahoo Movies and gives you a feel for the thriller, and it does look like it's going to be one to watch out for.
