New Moneyball trailer gets me for baseball
I'm not a baseball fan, in fact I think I can safely say I've never watched a full game, not more than pitch, but the latest trailer for Moneyball has me thinking I could be passionate about the game as much as Brad Pitt's character is.
The story is taken from the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael M. Lewis which tells the story of the Oakland A's manager Billy Beane's introduction of a computer generated analysis of players to pick his new baseball team on a budget.
That does sound really dry doesn't it, but watch the trailer and you feel something for the characters and the team. It reminds me a little of The Damned United, again a sport I don't enjoy where the film really pulled me into the characters and their situations, turned me around and got me really rooting for them.
Of course it also helps that the talent involved in Moneyball is Brad Pitt, Philip Seymour Hoffman and the amazing Robin Wright who not only reduces me to jelly with her performances but also with her stunning movie star looks. Sigh.
Anyway, here's the new trailer from Twitch, well worth a watch.
