Spall talks Prometheus

Prometheus.jpgOnce again an actor has been talking about the new Ridley Scott film Prometheus and giving little away, but what has been said in this article is an interesting comment on what the film could hold, and if Rafe Spall's slip of the tongue is true, then the film is going to reveal one big secret about humanity and aliens.

Now we don't know if the article is talking about the aliens we already know or if these are different aliens, but it's pretty clear that the film is going to have a big surprise in store.

Let's first look at Rafe Spall's comments when he talks about Prometheus and his character, oh and I'd better warn you at this point, there is a spoiler in here for his character in the film, unless of course it's misinformation.

Here's what Spall said when talking about Prometheus through The Guardian and Latino Review:

"Doing Prometheus was what you imagine being an actor is like when you're five. In a spacesuit, on another planet, getting killed by an alien. It was a real treat, it felt like being a part of movie history. As an actor, you try and be cool, but one of the reasons you become an actor is because you're a film fan."

Oh dear, so he's going to be killed, and by an alien. However we don't know what kind of alien and since they are in space it could be any type of alien. Yet since we've seen those Geiger structures and other comments, I'm willing to bet it's either the alien we already know, or the big huge one that is ferrying them about. It's still all guesswork, but surely now there's enough out there to accept the fact that we're talking about the aliens. Isn't there?

The other comment sets my head spinning and I'm not quite sure how this connects, but it's in the plot of the film and it's something I didn't connect on until now.

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.

So what are those questions? Who are we and how did we get here? Well if those are answered then it's probably going to tell us that we're descended from aliens don't you think? Couldn't be the aliens with double jaws and acid blood, that wouldn't quite work, but perhaps the big "space jockey" aliens?

Maybe they do use the aliens as a terra-forming creature, wiping the planet clean of all life apart from their own, the other aliens destroy them and then seed the planet to begin life there, their life.

Who knows, it's all rampant speculation, but you can pick bits from here and there and come up with a possible. The question is how close are we?
