Thor 2 talking director...
Brian Kirk, according to Variety, is the man who will be directing Thor 2, well if his talks complete successfully. Who is he? Well think Game of Thrones and you'll be seeing the strong connection to the Thor story. He's also directed Dexter, Boardwalk Empire and the excellent Luther starring Idris Elba - that's good news to see more of him back in Thor. Don Payne is writing the sequel, he wrote the first film. So far, it sounds good all round.

Branagh in talks to direct Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society...
Kenneth Branagh is in talks to direct The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is an adaptation of the 2008 novel by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows which follows an author who returns to Guernsey after the German occupation of World War II and begins to listen to the inhabitants and write about their stories. Sounds an interesting project for Branagh who is making sure he does something very different after the Hollywood success of Thor (Filmstalker review).

Snyder to direct The Last Photograph...
Zack Snyder has been developing a film about a photograph that sparks off an incredible journey across Afghanistan during the war for two men. The story comes from Twitch through Variety, who true to form don't even offer a link to the story they've reproduced, doesn't tell us much more other than he's looking to direct it next.

Pet Sematary remake talks director...
The Pet Sematary remake is looking to a new director and, according to Twitch, is in talks with Alexandre Aja to direct the horror remake, and horror remake sits well with the man who has proven himself in the field a number of times already - The Hills Have Eyes (Filmstalker review), Mirrors and Piranha.

Schrader to direct Ellis story...
Paul Schrader is set to direct Bait, a film written by Bret Easton Ellis, a thriller about a man who hijacks a yacht filled with some very important wealthy and obnoxious people and takes it out to shark infested waters, you can tell what might well happen next. Ellis and Schrader are working on the next draft of the script.

Berg directing Friday Night Lights film...
There's been talk of it before but Peter Berg has revealed that there is a film version of Friday Night Lights in the works and he said, through Deadline, that they are very serious in trying to make the film.

Fuqua directing Storming Las Vegas...
Antoine Fuqua is set to direct an adaptation of the book Storming Las Vegas: How a Cuban-Born, Soviet-Trained Commando Took Down The Strip to the Tune of Five World Class Hotels, Three Armored Cars, and Millions of Dollars, yes that's the whole title. Accoridng to it tells the story of Jose Vigoa who was born in Cuba and became a commando in the Soviet army. He built up a team in Las Vegas in the 1990's and for sixteen months ran on a violent crime spree hitting the big casinos. This was at a time when the Casinos were trying to clean up their act and a veteran of the Vegas police force was tasked with bringing them down without it hitting the papers. Sounds a hell of a story.

Dramatic new Escobar film...
A new film about Pablo Escobar is in the works and according to The Hollywood Reporter Brad Furman is in talks to direct the Matt Aldrich written script which producer Scott Steindorff says will be a cross between The Godfather and a war film:

"This is the Latino Godfather...We're showing the story of his family, the structure of his enterprise, his rise-the man had the largest criminal organization in the world. In the end, it was a war between Colombia and one man"

This does have the makings of a powerful dramatic film which could tell some hard stories about the charismatic drug lord.

George R. R. Martin is a good writer. Thanks for writing such a good work for us. I have read the first book. I think the Game of Thrones TV show presents it very well. And HBO really does something amazing. But the coming stories are more complex and intrigued, sincerely hope they will make things still good or better.

what a spoiled child! Joffrey just does not know right from wrong. He only wants to show his power and ignorance. He is handsome, but has little brains. Will he be dead in the game of thrones? It is a pity because he is really young and death is not a good thing for young people. But I will keep watching. Just for me, he may die and die very pathetically.
