Underworld: Awakening trailer
The trailer for Underworld: The Awakening seems to have popped out of nowhere, well we knew the film was coming but there was no real build up of publicity, it just arrived.
It's a good trailer too, now the vampires and Lycans look like they have the humans to contend with as well, although to be fair Selene doesn't seem to be too bothered by them, it's more the rather large Lycan that she's concerned about.
It's good to see the story return to the Kate Beckinsale character, although I do think it's a little strange as I thought from the last film they had shown that they can move on with another character so why go back?
Mind you the trailer for Underworld: The Awakening does suggest they have come up with a rather cool story for this film, although I' not sure what the story is with the Lycans this time round and what's going on with Michael, the humans have been meddling and are in the way, or rather they are in the way of the humans.
Here's the blurb for the new film which takes the franchise onto a new level.
Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.
That's the blurb, let's see the more interesting trailer:
Charles Dance, Michael Ealy, Stephen Rea and Sandrine Holt are some of the other names in the film which was written by Allison Burnett, John Hlavin and the excellent J. Michael Straczynski, with Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein directing. All of those names bring something positive to the film, but above all I'm interested in what Straczynski has created and Mårlind and Stein have brought to the big screen.
I know it's too early to be talking about this, we haven't even understood the extent of the new film yet, but will they make another one? Will Kate Beckinsale return again or will she be replaced once more? Meanwhile, what about this trailer?
