Crowe's We Bought a Zoo trailer
The trailer for Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo has arrived and it's looking like Crowe has managed to hit all the right marks with the film, and in particular the trailer. It looks like it's going to carry the Crowe magic and tug on our heartstrings at every opportunity.
That's not a bad thing if it's done well and one thing that the trailer does suggest is that the performances are going to be good, after all we're talking about Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Thomas Haden Church, Patrick Fugit, and Angus Macfadyen.
The story is in the title, single Dad ends up giving up his job, moving and buying a zoo. The story then sees him struggle to bring the zoo back to life, deal with the animals and the demands of the business, while trying to bring up his two kids and teach them about life.
Here's the more official blurb for We Bought a Zoo:
This holiday season, acclaimed filmmaker Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous) directs an amazing and true story about a single dad who decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places: a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonder and glory.
I know We Bought a Zoo seems a tad over emotional and it looks like it's going to do all the usual things to get to us emotionally, but this is Cameron Crowe and there's a strong cast led by Matt Damon, and perhaps it just might not turn out as formulaic as you think, after all Crowe has delivered before hasn't he?
Here's the trailer which you can also see on Apple Trailers. See if you think it can do something more than you expect, and with the characters and relationships, not just the animals in the zoo.
