New The Howling: Reborn trailer looks better
There's a new trailer for the, hopefully for the studio, Howling franchise restart film called The Howling: Reborn. The first trailer just looked like a Twilight film, teenagers at school who get caught up with a group of werewolves and so on, but the new trailer looks a fair bit better.
There are still some issues with it and moments of it still seem a bit predictable and a few groaning moments, but the glimpses of the creatures look pretty good and this has a bit of a darker feel to it now.
The Howling: Reborn is heading direct to Blu-ray and isn't hitting the cinema, and perhaps that tells you what the final film is like, but this trailer certainly does suggest that it's better than we previously thought, mind you there are all sorts of magic that can be worked with trailers. Yet the blurb we saw with the previous trailer wasn't that impressive and did sound more Twilight and far less Howling.
On the eve of his high school graduation, unremarkable Will Kidman finally bonds with the girl he has long yearned for, reclusive Eliana Wynter. But he also discovers a dark secret from his past... that he is about to become a werewolf. Now, in an effort to fight destiny and save their love as well as their lives, they must battle not only Will's growing blood lust but an army of fearsome beasts bent on killing them... and then, us all.
Mind you even with this trailer I think the direct to Blu-ray suggests that we aren't seeing a restart of the franchise, at least not with this film leading the way back to cinemas. Does it interest you? Give this new trailer a try first though.
