The Deep Blue Sea trailer
The Deep Blue Sea comes from a play by Terence Rattigan that Terence Davies adapted and directed, it stars Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston and Simon Russell Beale, and the trailer that has been let loose on the internet certainly looks and sounds good, although it's not telling us much of the story.
Woman, divorce, lovely music, that's what the trailer gives us, but the attraction should be the cast, the adaptation from the play and Davis, although I've vowed never to watch The House of Mirth ever again.
The blurb for The Deep Blue Sea tells us a little, but not that much:
The wife of a British Judge is caught in a self-destructive love affair with a Royal Air Force pilot.
The trailer, which I found through Deadline, has some nice moments to it and a wonderful score that helps build the sense of the dramatic, although it isn't the best quality.
We're getting to see a release in the UK in late November with America the following month. I hope we get another trailer before then. As I've said already, this trailer is about the director and the cast, not the trailer itself.
