New Woman in Black trailer
This will be the second trailer for Woman in Black, the latest from the revived Hammer studio, another foray into old skool horror with a modern twist, and a remake of the 1989 television film which proved rather scary and found a place with horror fans who liked the more psychological horror.
So it's been interesting watching the revival of Hammer and what type of horror films they're producing as well as the arrival of the remake of The Woman in Black.
For the most part both have been very promising, and the first trailer for The Woman in Black told us we were going to be getting something in the mould of the original, more psychological horror, more subtlety than most horrors that we've been seeing to date.
Hammer seem to be on a move to do more than just return to the horror production market, they're trying to make a firm British stamp on it, and bring us something a little more clever than Hollywood has.
The second trailer for The Woman in Black looks like it's holding true to that vein and not racing off to try and deliver more of the same. What's more is that Daniel Radcliffe looks like he's going to be surprising all of us with a powerful performance, shaking off the past of Harry Potter as quickly as possible.
This version sees the Susan Hill novel adapted by Jane Goldman, without Matthew Vaughn, and directed by James Watkins. It doesn't just star Radcliffe but there's also Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer and Shaun Dooley and Roger Allam.
The Woman in Black sees a young lawyer travelling to a remote village to see to the estate of a recently deceased client. Once there he discovers that he's not alone in the house, in fact there's a ghost of a woman out for vengeance and a dark story behind her.
