Rampage videogame adaptation...

Owen in Schrader written action film...
Clive Owen is set to star in a new action film called Recall which is written by the superb writer and director Paul Schrader - you know, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Last Temptation of the Christ, and more. Variety through First Showing tells us Harold Becker is set to direct the story about an NSA agent who doesn't remember what happened to him or his team during a failed hostage rescue mission. As he begins to remember the events he doubts his own mind and the words of the other agents.

Reiner making Proposition 8 film...
Rob Reiner is working on two films just now according to The Hollywood Reporter, not only is he hitting a heist film called Airtight, but he's also working on a film about the Californian ballot proposition, Proposition 8. No real details on either, but both would be interesting as he's never attempted a heist film before and he's involved in the movement against Proposition 8 so it will be an emotive and passionate film.

Asteroids rewrite...
Evan Spiliotopoulos has been hired to rewrite the script for upcoming videogame adaptation Asteroids according to Variety, he rewrote the Ouija script before it was dropped in the bin, or rather in turnaround as they say. Matt Lopez wrote the original. Why oh why.

Woody Woodpecker on film...
Yeah I know there's a cheap, smutty joke there, but it's the most interesting part of the story. The Hollywood Reporter says that Woody Woodpecker may be coming to the big screen. Illumination Entertainment is the animation company run through Universal who have recently delivered Despicable Me. John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky are apparently in talks to write the script, they wrote Blades of Glory. This is as bad as the Rampage videogame adaptation story.

Rampage videogame adaptation...
The video game rampage is being adapted for film, a sixteen bit game where you play one of three monsters, a giant lizard, werewolf or gorilla, eating all the buildings in the city as the military try and kill you. Destroy a city, gain a level. That's all there is to it and according to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros. paid some US $33 million for the rights to the game - $33 million? For that?! What they are paying for are the rights to do anything they want with the story rather than a videogame with a much richer storyline that would have more restrictions on the plot development, think Halo for a prime example. However what is this game going to bring them? What is the story really offering them? Couldn't they just have written about city destroying monsters without the game?
