M. Night Shayamalan's One Thousand A.E. set to star Will and Jaden Smith has just gained a new writer according to Variety through Latino Review. While Gary Whitta wrote the original script and Shyamalan did some rewrites, and now Stephen Gaghan who wrote and directed Syriana and wrote Traffic is on board to rewrite this science fiction story. The film sees a father and son exploring team crash land on Earth thousands of years after the population has left the planet, and with the father in a bad way, the son heads out alone.

Miles Davis film gains director...

Godzilla gains a new writer...
While the new, new Godzilla film remains with Gareth Edwards to direct, the writer has changed in order to deliver a new rewrite. Max Borenstein is the man tasked with the rewrite according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Emmerich halts Singularity...
Roland Emmerich has called a halt to his film Singularity in order to rewrite the script which he is apparently unhappy with. According to the story in The Hollywood Reporter it's nothing to do with the film carrying a US $175 budget, or the fact that his previous Anonymous has done very poorly, no it's because he wasn't happy with the script. To back that up it seems that Emmerich has taken the "futurist" and artificial intelligence specialist Ray Kurzweil who believes that intelligence will move to technology and overturn humans as the leading intelligence, is set to help work on the next version of the script.

David Bailey in film...
Who do you think you are? David Bailey? Remember that? No? Okay let's move on. We'll Take Manhattan is a British film to come that will tell the story of the iconic photographer and his model and muse Jean Shrimpton. Karen Gillian is set to play Shrimpton although the The Hollywood Reporter story doesn't yet tell us who will play Bailey, but IMDB says it's Aneurin Barnard.

ITV's Unforgiven...
Suranne Jones starred in the excellent ITV drama Unforgiven about a woman who comes out of prison after serving fifteen years for shooting two policemen who had entered her home. From the beginning the details of the shooting are unclear and we see her released into the world trying to come to terms with all the changes around her and build, not even rebuild, a new life. It's hard for her, and no one gives her a chance, and while she's coming to terms with her new life the sons of one of her victims set out for revenge. Originally Christopher McQuarrie was writing it, now though Deadline says Scott Frank is rewriting it and will direct the film adaptation.
