Jack the Giant Killer trailer arrives
The trailer for Bryan Singer's version of Jack the Giant Killer has just been released and it looks big, bold and perfect for IMAX. It's the old story with a few cinematic twists and Bryan Singer's unique take to make it much more epic and as it would turn out, a little bit darker.
I kind of like the look of the trailer, although I'm not totally sold on it yet. What it does bring is a much bigger scale story than I had expected from it, and that can be seen in the closing sequences.
Of course Bryan Singer always delivers in some form or another, and I think he always delivers well. Yes there have been disappointments but never in a film in its entirety, parts of the film yes, but never a complete film, for me Superman Returns (Filmstalker review) is a great example of that.
So it's with open arms I look forward to Jack the Giant Killer, knowing that he's going to be delivering with all guns blazing, as usual.
Here's the blurb for the film:
Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittinglyopens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend--and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
