[REC] 3: Génesis trailer online
Anew trailer has appeared for [REC] 3: Génesis, which won't surprise you to know is the third in the [REC] series of films which have been proving rather popular and with the second film managed to do much more than a conventional sequel. More than that it managed to do a lot more than a standard film based around first person hand-held camera.
Now the third film promises to change things again. First, despite the Genesis tag, this is not an origin film but it's a sequel to the third. Second it moves the action away from the original location, third it's partly in daylight, and fourth the film seems to move from the hand-held camera somewhat.
These are quite the changes for the franchise, but it is the penultimate visit we're making to it as the dual creators Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza who have delivered the first two films have separated to each make their own REC film, and not in a negative way either.
Plaza has made [REC] 3: Génesis which looks to the immediate future while Balagueró is heading to make and end to the series in [REC] 4 Apocalypse so that they can move onto other things.
Here's a blurb for the film from the site where the trailer was nestled away:
After the claustrophobic feeling experienced in the first two installments of [REC], the action takes place now miles away from the original location and partly in broad daylight, features that give the film a fresh and disturbing reality .
The infection has left the building.
The action now takes place miles away from the original location and partly in broad daylight, giving the film an entirely fresh yet disturbing new reality. The infection has left the building. In a clever twist that draws together the plots of the first two movies, this third part of the saga also works as a decoder to uncover information hidden in the first two films and leaves the door open for the final installment, the future '[REC] 4 Apocalypse.'
We have until next year to wait to see [REC] 3: Génesis but already I'm getting rather excited. [REC] 2 (Filmstalker review) managed to bring something new to the series and add a really nice twist to everything, so I'm wondering what they'll do with the third, clearly it's not going to be more of the same, especially not from the trailer which you can see on the RTVE site.
