Wish You Were Here trailer
I haven't heard a thing about this film, until seeing this trailer, and what caught my eye and prompted me to press play was the appearance of Joel Edgerton whom I have started to gain more and more respect for after seeing him in a number of strong dramatic roles, the first to make me notice being Animal Kingdom (Filmstalker Review).
The trailer has a slowly built pace that leaks out little pieces of information as the soundtrack builds and pretty soon delivers a film that promises a dramatic thriller.
Kieran Darcy-Smith has directed and co-written the film, he's appeared in a number of films himself but so far has only written and directed three short films, so this is his first seat in the directorial chair. It's co-written by Felicity Price who stars as one of the leads, and again this is her first feature writer role however she has a number of acting credits to her resume.
Wish You Were Here is a psychological drama/mystery starring Joel Edgerton, Felicity Price and Teresa Palmer. Four friends - husband and wife Dave and Alice, and Alice's sister Steph and her new boyfriend Jeremy - lose themselves in the fun of a carefree South East Asian holiday. However, only three return back to Australia. Dave and Alice come home to their young family desperate for answers about Jeremy's mysterious disappearance. When Steph, returns not long after, a brutal secret is revealed about the night her boyfriend went missing. But it is only the first of many. Who amongst them knows what happened on that fateful night when they were dancing under a full moon in Cambodia?
The trailer, which comes through TrailerAddict, looks rather good and I'd say this has strong potential, take a look and see what you think.
