BAFTA Film Awards nominations 2012 announced

BAFTA.jpgThe BAFTA nominations have just been announced, in fact I watched them live on Sky News this morning as I made my breakfast, boy the presenters have to be up early. Now the list of nominees has been released and I'm happy to say they are right here, along with the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, that's the one that you get to vote for the winner, no one else.

This year the nominations are looking tough, I don't think you can pick clear winners so easily, and there's a very welcome Academy Fellowship award. The Rising Star Nominations have come in for some criticism with it being an all male category, however I'm sure that wasn't intended, even if you think Jessica Chastain should be there.

Here is the complete list of nominations for the BAFTA Film Awards in 2012.

So those are the complete list of nominations. I told you it's going to be hard trying to pick a winner from many of those categories, can you? Have you got any particular favourites? I do hope that Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Filmstalker review) picks up a few and doesn't get pushed to the side for its very different pacing and the complex plot.

Oh, of course there is the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, now remember this is the one that you can vote for, it's not voted for by the Academy members at all, all you.

The details of how to vote and short recaps of each of the stars are included on the Rising Star Awards page over at BAFTA and there are a good few choices, myself I think that perhaps Jessica Chastain could have been in there but the line-up of rising stars is hard to argue with.

The Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award
Adam Deacon
Chris Hemsworth
Chris O'dowd
Eddie Redmayne
Tom Hiddleston

Who will you vote for?
