Glasgow Film Festival 2012: The films to see

GlasgowFilmFestival.jpgThe Glasgow Film Festival 2012 has opened and the programme is online for all to see, what's more is that the tickets are on sale now. I'm attending this year and I've looked through the film programme from start to finish deciding what I'm going to see and the list is rather large.

I like to think that this is the long list, but in reality I'll want to go and see every film that's here, what that means are a number of late nights and a lot of travelling but I'm hoping the films will be worth it.

So if you're going to the Glasgow Film Festival this year here's a list of films that I think might be worth seeing, and if you weren't going to attend then this list should contain some strong reasons why you should go.

If you're new to the Glasgow Film Festival head over to the official site and see their online programme which is filled with films, and it's not just the films that are of interest, there's the Short Film Festival, the Youth Film Festival and the many talks and discussion events that are peppered through the Festival, including the usual comic book and superhero related themes. Yes, Mr Millar is here again.

This year there's also a Gene Kelly retrospective including the classic Singin' in the Rain, which still has a lot to say about Hollywood and the changing face of the industry, and how could I forget the superb FrightFest that always brings superb scares and chills to audiences for a good couple of nights, eleven films this year.

Find out about it all on the official site, the blog, the twitter account or the Facebook page.

Now, here's the list of films I'm keen to see after working my way through that programme. Note that this is basically my raw list just with the links added and a short note on each to remind me what film the title refers to.

So there's my list, I'm sorry long list, I have to keep telling myself that this is really a long list and I won't be trying to see them all...however the truth is I will try, fail, and that'll be another typical Festival experience for me, but a fantastic one filled with tons of great films that I do get to see, exactly what it's all about.

Get yourself over to the Glasgow Film Festival site and bury yourself into those films. They've got a great programme, some great venues, and there's plenty to keep you occupied between films with their and Twitter feeds.

See you there.
