Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope amusing trailer

ComicConAFansHope.jpgThe trailer for Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope opens with three big stars talking about their experiences of Comic-Con and ends with a big laugh from Kevin Smith. In between we're introduced to a few key people from the documentary who together will give us our view of Comic-Con.

I have to admit that the trailer really isn't selling me on the documentary, but those who have been there are no doubt more excited than I am to see it.

Here's the blurb for Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope to try and sell you the documentary which comes from Morgan Spurlock:

Have you ever imagined a place where Vulcans and vampires get along? Where wizards and wookies can be themselves? Welcome to Comic-Con San Diego. What started as a fringe comic book convention for 500 fans has grown into the pop culture event of the year that influences every form of entertainment, now attended by over 140,000 strong. COMIC-CON EPISODE IV: A FAN'S HOPE- a film by Morgan Spurlock explores this amazing cultural phenomenon by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

Now there's a reason to go and see the film, it's from Morgan Spurlock, and he can make some good documentaries. However is this really the kind of material he thrives on? Is it unique and perhaps a little dangerous and edgy? Exposing something we've never seen before? Well I guess the latter is true since a lot of us haven't been to a Comic-Con, but I don't see the draw myself.

The trailer is now over at Apple Trailers in high definition and I have a copy right here for you to watch.

Looks good, I've been to a few cons, and at least Morgan S has done a job of capturing the different aspects by the looks of it.

Could be a bit of balanced journalism, not like the UK press who just take the piss out of the geeks.

Yes Kevin Smith, how did we......
