Extraterrestre (Extraterrestrial) trailer from Timecrimes director

Extraterrestre.jpgNacho Vigalondo is the man who wrote and directed the superb film Timecrimes, and if you haven't seen it yet then you really need to. His latest film is called Extraterrestre or Extraterrestrial and is about a group of people who wake up to discover that there's a huge alien spaceship above the city and panic and chaos has ensued.

Except the space ship is doing nothing, and Julio has just woken up next to the woman of his dreams. As you've guessed, and you'll see from the trailer the film is a real mix of genres and is offering a very different take on films you may think you've seen before.

Extraterrestre (Extraterrestrial) is playing at the Glasgow Film Festival this year, I'm still waiting to hear if I've received my tickets for the screening to go and see this film but I hope I have for I really enjoyed Timecrimes when I saw it at this very festival and would love to repeat the experience with Extraterrestrial.

I really hope I haven't inadvertently guessed the twist though, pulling everything together my mind raced ahead and came up with something and I just hope I'm wrong. I would suggest if you are going to see the film perhaps you want to switch off your brain or don't watch the trailer. That's a real shame too, because the trailer is good.

Here's the blurb for the film which comes through Bleeding Cool and First Showing:

There's only one sane response when you wake up to a sky full of alien invaders - run like hell. But what do you do if the invasion starts when you've just met the girl of your dreams?...Julio wakes up - horribly hungover and with no memory of the night before - next to a mindblowingly sexy girl, in a stunning apartment. She wants him to get out now but the alien invasion that's just begun outside is the perfect excuse for Julio to stay.

Here's the trailer for Extraterrestre (Extraterrestrial) from the same sources, let's see what you think:

I'm really excited as considering what Nacho Vigalondo did with Timecrimes I'm really hopeful for Extraterrestre (Extraterrestrial).
