Let the Bullets Fly trailer looks bizarre
Let the Bullets Fly has just had a trailer released for it. Why should you care? Well it stars Chow Yun-Fat and it's one of the highest grossing Chinese films - mind you I'm not sure if the word grossing is used for money or the way the audience felt afterwards. Be warned there's a lot of blood.
Mind you, most of it is silly fountain blood but there are a lot of bullets flying, and connecting. It does look rather daft though and the trailer makes little sense as well as being cut far too fast. I'm not sure whoever made this trailer really gets the film.
That said, I'm not sure I get this film, especially from the trailer.
The plot for Let the Bullets Fly, which there's no way you'd get from the trailer itself, goes like this:
Set in 1920s China, notorious bandit chief Zhang descends upon a remote provincial town posing as its new mayor, an identity that he had hijacked from Old Tang. Hell-bent on making a fast buck, Zhang soon meets his match in tyrannical local gentry Master Huang, as a deadly battle of wit and brutality ensues.
The film stars Chow Yun-Fat, although he too appears rather sparsely in the trailer, and it promises to be an action, western style comedy.
What do you think?
