The Bourne Legacy first trailer
Okay, colour me impressed. I thought The Bourne Legacy might end up being a copy of what we had seen before, just with different actors and characters, however it's not, and while it does seem to tie in with the Bourne films, this agent doesn't seem to be going the same route.
Not according to the trailer anyway which paints a picture of a Bourne type trained killer without the memory loss problems, and he looks pretty damn mean.
Here's the blurb for The Bourne Legacy which looks like it sells the fact that Tony Gilroy is behind it and the returning cast more than anything, which isn't really a surprise is it? After all they have to make the fans of the Bourne films slide over to this new potential franchise.
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.
The cast list is impressive, and more so that they've managed to bring a good few of the original team back, and that means a big tie-in with the original film, the blurb even suggests that although it doesn't reveal just how far the tie-in goes.
Here's the trailer through TrailerAddict for The Bourne Legacy which I think looks great. It shows us Jeremy Renner's "Bourne" as he is inducted and then leaps into full on Bourne-mode.
Could this work? I'm definitely in on this one trailer.
