Dead Shadows trailer shows tentacles
I'm not sure if Dead Shadows sells too much of itself in the trailer but if you forgive a few effects shots as the film is currently in post production, it looks like it might be interesting and might hold people to a frightening horror science fiction story.
The film comes from first time writer Vincent Julé and first time director David Cholewa and led by a name you might just recognise, especially if you like reading film sites, John Fallon.
John Fallon is a man of many talents, he writes for JoBlo but is also an actor, stuntman, writer, producer, director and Canadian, and that's a lot to fit into such a busy life. He leads Dark Shadows along with Wolfrom Fabian and although the film does look low budget in some of the effects shots there are some strong moments in the trailer.
Here's the blurb for Dead Shadows:
Dead Shadows tells the terrifying story of a young man, named Chris (Fabian Wolfrom), whose parents were brutally killed 11 years ago, on the same day that the Halley's comet could be seen from earth. Tonight, a new comet is appearing and everyone in Chris's building are getting ready for a party to celebrate the event. As the night falls, Chris discovers that people are starting to act strange - and this seems to somehow be connected to the comet. They are becoming disoriented and violent and it doesn't take long before they begin to mutate into something far beyond this world. In a fight for survival, Chris tries to escape from his building with the help of a gun taunting tenant (John Fallon) - but will they make it out alive?
The trailer comes through TrailerAddict and does look rather interesting, although I do wonder if it sells a little too much of the film up front and doesn't keep enough mystery. Mind you, the shot of the dark street and the woman creeping up behind the character in shot is rather good.
What do you think? Does Dark Shadows have your attention?
